Hi Julie,

Thought I recognised the name. What a trip down memory lane that was for me. I felt every snip. I would have been eleven when I decided to lop off my pigtails to stop the boys swinging on them. My mother's reaction was to take me to the village barber, who gave me a haircut that made me one of the boys.

I love the play on the word 'parting'. The only line I stumbled on is the first line of the third verse which I feel knocks the rhythm out. Would it still work if you replaced you'll be able with you can?

Phone call interrupted my thoughts.
Fiona.
