Yes Publications at the Holywell Trust in Derry have a one year mentoring scheme for children's writers and illustrators- stories must be for the u-12s and ideally have an Irish theme/setting. Scheme includes matching writers and illustrators, attending professional workshops, and publication and marketing (free of charge) of a first title. Panel of writers and educationalists will select at least six writers from the applicants who must send a sample of their work-not necessarily a children's story-to Fionnuala Deane at Yes Publications, Holywell Trust, Bishop Street, Derry BT48 by March 16th.
Sounds like a great way into a specialist area .....
